We are proposing a thesis, which would ideally start in the fall of 2013, on the topic of "Dissipation in model non-equilibrium system". Potential goal of this work is to extract
relevant information in experimental data of non-equilibrium fluctuations in soft matter and biological systems".
In this thesis, we have investigated a modified fluctuation-dissipation theorem near general non-equilibrium states
[PDF],
and new second-law like inequalities for transitions between non-stationary states. For a short comment paper of these two works, see also [PDF].
Biofilaments: we have been interested in modelling the coupling of hydrolysis to polymerization in biofilaments, which leads to rich dynamic behavior,
both for actin and
microtubules.
